Understanding your vehicle's Engine air filter and the importance of its maintenance

The engine air filter prevents contaminants such as dirt, dust, and leaves from getting pulled into your vehicle's engine and potentially damaging it. A dirty filter will inhibit air from passing through and cause poor performance and fuel economy. Inspect the filter for build-up of contaminants and replace at the specified intervals. Severe driving conditions such as dusty roads will require more frequent replacing.
